Josh Hambarian

"Buy land, they're not making it anymore." ... Mark Twain

Josh was born and raised in Orange County. He grew up with an entrepreneurial attitude and belief that hard work leads to success. He learned a lot of this from his grandfather that started a trash company in Los Angeles with one truck that he drove himself. He recalls his grandparents, father and eventually the rest of the family spent a lot of time together running the family business that eventually had over 70 trucks and serviced most of Orange County. One might think that he would jump at the chance of a secure future with the family trade, but he chose to go to college instead and create his own path, eventually graduating with a degree in Marketing from San Diego State University in 2000.

His mom’s side of the family is how he ended up with real estate in his blood. Both of his grandparents, mom and uncle are all brokers and realtors. He feels that investing in real estate is a great way to build a passive income that will lead him to being able to provide for his family and meet some great people along the way. I’m sure he will never retire, but he is optimistic that by working a few extra hours now and making some smart investments he will be able to keep life in perspective and enjoy it with those around him. He’s a firm believer that we should approach every day as if it is an opportunity to help those around you whether it is a simple smile or taking the time to listen and offer any advice he might have, especially if they need help with real estate.

He likes to make things and stay creative. Another belief he has is that we are all much more creative than we think, but in our efforts to support ourselves and our families we often do not have the time to devote to staying creative because it does not put money in the bank account. A while back he started painting because he wanted something to put on the wall. He’s sold a couple paintings, but probably given away a lot more because the appreciation he receives is worth much more to him than the money. He’s also shaped 67 surfboards because he was having trouble articulating exactly what he wanted to ride and decided to shape his own boards. He even ended up shaping a few for his friends and gets a tremendous sense of pride when they get a good wave on one of these boards. One of his favorite things in the world is camping. A couple friends around a fire singing songs, playing guitar and telling stories is something that will never get old and he could never think of a better way to end the day.
