Retirement doesn't suit Pat Conahan, who had been investing in North County real estate since the eighties. So after being a cop, teacher, business consultant and insurance broker, the self-starter decided to partner with Betty and Cody Steele in the formation of Steele Realty.
Pat is fueled by deep passion and enthusiasm for his work. A big motivator for the former police detective and supervisor is providing quality service for people. Pat gets great joy and satisfaction from helping clients, especially young people, find the right home.
While the real estate market can be lucrative, Pat is not drawn to the financial lures. Instead, he puts service before bucks and treats all his clients as if they were part of his family. Pat believes that success is not about making money but also about providing something for others that he can be proud of. Despite the plethora of realtors in San Diego County, Pat believes there is always room for someone who is willing to work hard and to do the right thing. When asked what it takes to sell the kind of high-end homes that Steele Realty specializes in, Pat says area knowledge, market wisdom, hard work, diligence, matching the right person with the right house, and lots of carrot juice. Pat's sense of humor, feel for community, and seasoned business experience will help propel Steele Realty as the leading real estate firm in North County.
Besides a 16 year law enforcement career, Pat, who earned a master's in education from UCLA, also taught kindergarten through junior college. The veteran surfer, who has been riding the waves of North County since the 1960's, spent part of his career as a business consultant who organized and developed executive coaching programs for non-profits and entertainment firms in Los Angeles. Pat opened an insurance brokerage firm after he moved to Encinitas in 1986.
Pat, a father of three, lives in Encinitas with his wife Mary Kay, who runs Conahan Insurance.
